The twelve properties are located in the Caribbean
of Costa Rica, in Colorado, Pococi, Limon.
The properties have a strategic location: about 2 hours from
San Jose, 1 hour boat ride from Tortuguero, 1 hour away from
nearest town, 2 hour away from rafting tours, with a great
location for tourist traveling from/to Arenal or San Jose to
Caribbean beaches such as Cahuita, Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo.
The proximity to Tortuguero National Park makes these properties
a great destination for additional nights after or before visiting
Tortuguero, or to spend some nights after or before the rafting
tours. Other important destinations relative close are Sarapiqui
and Turrialba, been the location an amazing connecting point
and having all the resources to be a Destination it self.
The nearest town is Guacimo, about 1 hour away
from the properties. In Guacimo you can find banks, grocery stores,
medical clinic, drugstores, public schools, agricultural centers,
veterinary medicine, and branch offices of the companies of public
services.
On the way from Guacimo to the properties, you will see different
canal waters and the navigable Jimenez River. You will observe
banana plantations, pineapple plantations, green foliage and flowers
plantations, peach palm plantations, palm heart plantations, cattle
for milk or/and meet production; and there is also a butterfly
garden that export pupae (Chrysalis) to the USA, Europe and other
countries.
The access to the location of the properties can be done by ground
transportation, from San Jose it takes about 2 hours
to get to the properties that have access by ballast road. From
there it might be necessary to go by horses or walking to arrive
to other properties.
There is a small private airstrip near the properties,
so it might be possible to arrange a charter flight or a helicopter,
after coordinating with the owner of the airstrip. From the airstrip
you will continue by car. A 4x4 vehicle is necessary.
Bordering many of the properties you will
find Quebrada Sirena and Cano Sirena,
creeks that connect to the Sierpe Canals, which connect to Tortuguero
Canal, been a amazing and fast way to arrive to
Tortuguero National Park and the lodges located in this Caribbean
region. A boat ride from the properties to Tortuguero town
takes about 1 hour.
Besides these two main creeks that connects to Tortuguero
Canals, smaller water canals, creeks and rivers goes through
different properties, adding a great value due they are corridors
for wildlife and the biological habitat of the different
species of this tropical forest area, conserving and enriching
the biodiversity.
One of the owners likes to say that these properties are located
in a “Small Amazon” area, due the biodiversity,
the weather and the characteristic that time to time the water
level raises and floods part of the area, then the water level
down and the richness and habitat continues it development and
grow.
There is no water or electricity public services on the properties.
Two properties have water wells, and it is always
possible to build one, and also to have a generator of electricity.
The electric public service is available in the nearest banana
plantation where this product is processed: Thames, which is located
very close to the entrance of one of the properties. Also, it is
possible to coordinate with the public service companies, and after
the necessary paperwork and paying for the necessary investment,
have the water and/or electricity services in your property.
